Program Specialist

Managing the expanding Academic Affiliations Program. Responsible for coordinating Graduate Medical Education (GME), Graduate Dental Education (GOE), and Associated Health Training (AHT) programs for DVAHCS to increase efficiency through process improvements and communications with affiliates throughout the country. Serves as a liaison to assigned academic affiliates representing facility GME, GOE, and AHT programs and the Education Office in responding to requests. Oversees the analysis of and health care system response to resident and Trainee Satisfaction Survey student surveys (TSS) on the evaluation of educational training experiences. Utilizes the collected data to direct resources to meet needs and make improvements. Participates on committees, task forces, and teams and serves as a Physician Resident, Dental Resident, and Associated Health Trainee educational expert. Responsible for providing academic affiliation program administration guidance and direction in the initiation of new affiliations and evaluation of existing affiliations. Monitors the residency, internship, and fellowship trainee programs to determine administration compliance with regulatory requirements. Drafts, prepares for signature, and manages program-specific Academic Affiliation Agreements (Agreements), Program Letters of Agreement (PLA), Memoranda of Understanding (MOU), and all relevant files required by the academic affiliations. Responsible for training and coordinating efforts with designated points-of-contact (POC) involved with HPTs for each service line. Responsible for issues pertaining to GLR, documentation of attending physician involvement, and ensuring dissemination of such information to clinical areas. Records and maintains educational expense agreements, monitors requirements of agreement terms and correct deficiencies. Identifies and conducts educational special projects, involving fact-finding, problem resolution and review and implementation of new or reviewed policies and program changes. Reviews all policy memoranda and correspondence, recommending action when policies or procedures are modified. Extracts and assembles database and spreadsheet information on the Needs & Excess reports, academic disbursements, Education Activity reports and MedHub reports, conducts analysis, summarizes data, and develops monthly statistics for processing of residents, fellows and interns. Works with Fiscal Service on the budget for disbursement agreements and stipend accounts, providing expense justifications. Communicates and reports the stipulations of disbursement agreements for resident salaries among affiliated universities, colleges, and medical facilities. Reviews allocated positions to generate the Needs and Excess Report for OAA and communicates their decisions to the service lines. Ensures initial and annual training of service line staff involved in EAR recordkeeping of disbursement agreements. Gathers required information, analyzes data, develops recommendations, and submits reports. Safeguards confidential and sensitive information and ensures information is provided to authorized individuals. Performs other duties as assigned. Work Schedule:

Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
