Electrician

Duties include, but may not be limited to the following:
Work from building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings and electrical maintenance and repair manuals to plan and lay out the routing, placement type, size, gauge, balance, load, continuity and safe operation of electrical lines, circuits, systems, equipment and controls. Interpret basic electronic terms and symbols when reading technical/system diagrams and schematics. Apply a variety of electrical formulas, tables, charts and color codes in order to mount, ground and install wiring and equipment for electrical/electronic systems. Determine and place distribution panels, boxes, fittings and connections and installs wiring couplings, conduit, relays, fixtures, transformers and other electrical devices. Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers. Identify electrical problems using a variety of testing devices. Interpret and apply state and local building regulations based on the National Electrical Code. Trace hard-to-locate defects or problems associated with the completion of repairs and installations. Perform other related duties as assigned. Work Schedule:

The employee makes repairs and installations from ladders, scaffolding, platforms, requiring considerable standing, stooping, bending, pulling and kneeling; works in tiring and uncomfortable positions; frequently lifts, carries and sets up tools and equipment. The employee must be able to lift and/or carry 75 pounds. WORK CONDITIONS:
The employee works inside and outside of the Medical Center. The work is usually dirty, dusty, hot, cold, greasy and noisy, and is sometimes performed during inclement weather. The employee is occasionally exposed to the possibility of broken bones, electrical shock, burns and is frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts and bruises. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualifications. For this position, the job element method is used to match what you, the applicant, can do against what the work calls for. Your knowledge, skills and abilities will be compared to the knowledge, skills and abilities (called job elements) needed for success. Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element (WG-2 and higher only; screen-outs are not applicable to WG-1). Applicants who appear to meet the screen out element are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated from consideration. The potential eligibles are rated against the remainder of the job elements. A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
