Supervisory Pharmacy Technician

Assisting/coordinating comprehensive pharmaceutical care activities. Supervise pharmacy technicians as they perform their daily activities and functions. Planning, organizing, and reviewing work. Scheduling/assigning coverage to meet the routine work demands, goals of the hospital and customer service demands. Planning/granting leave. Assist Associate Chief of Pharmacy or Supervisors in interviewing/selecting new hires. Training new employees. Plan and participate in staff meetings to resolve any issues that may come up. Serve as a liaison between Pharmacists and other personnel to improve inter-professional communication. Assist with the development of the functional statement and performance standards. Monitor and assist in maintaining workflow patterns to ensure accurate dispensing in carts fill and IV preparations and record keeping. Develop solutions to streamline processes, reduce waste, lower cost, and improve patient care. Perform quality checks in the pharmacy technician workstations. Perform duties of a pharmacy technician at any time the need arises. Work Schedule:

Experience:
Must have at least 52 weeks experience at the next lower grade, GS-7. Education:
Must have the required education this announcement states. Certification:
Certification by the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board(PTCB) is required at grades GS-6 and above. Loss of Credential:
An employee in this occupation who fails to obtain licensure/certification/registration must be removed from the occupation, which may also result in termination of employment. May qualify based on being covered by the Grandfathering Provision as described in the VA Qualification Standard for this occupation (only applicable to current VHA employees who are in this occupation and meet the criteria). Grade Determinations:
Creditable Experience. To be creditable, the experience must have required the use of Knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics associated with the scope of pharmacy technician practice. Quality of Experience. To be creditable, pharmacy technician experience must be documented on the application and verified in an employment reference, or through other independent means. Part-time Experience. Part-time experience as a pharmacy technician is credited according to its relationship to the full-time workweek. For example, a pharmacy technician would receive 1 week of full-time credit for each 2 weeks of half-time work. Grade Determinations. In addition to the basic requirements for employment, the following criteria must be met when determining the grade of candidates. References:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
