Registered Nurse ( Health Promotion and Disease Prevention/Whole Health Manager)

The Whole Health Concept is to place more emphasis on self-centered wellness and preventive measures integrated with the primary and specialty clinicians to provide a partnership for the Veterans and Caregivers. Some of these initiatives include but are not limited to annual VA2K run, annual Flu Campaign, and Health Fairs. The comprehensive Whole Health System Guide, along with education, training, and resources, is part of a coordinated effort to ensure success across the VA. The Whole Health delivery system includes three components:
Pathway, Well-being programs, and Clinical Care which are interconnected by the Veterans Personal Health Plan. Research has revealed that this approach is critical for Veterans with chronic conditions such as chronic pain and mental health concerns. The Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse WHP/HPDP Manager will include but not limited to:
Developing local program monitors and outcomes to measure clinical performance, best practice guidelines, and data-driven quality processes to meet facility strategic plans. Collaborating with clinical leadership and administrator to implement and manage all facets of the WHP/HPDP initiative Knowledgeable about the services which fall under the purview of these programs as well as outreach and local community services Providing guidance to identify training program availability and competencies of staff development to include travel and Whole Health education materials Monitoring key performance metrics for the WHP and systems Creating the infrastructure for the in-person, telemedicine or phone health coaching sessions and whole health course delivery Serving o the Whole Health Program Steering Committee Assuring program policies and procedures are following VHA regulations, Central Office directives, VISN guidelines, Union Master Agreement and professional guidelines for all accrediting and regulatory agencies Planning and staff development across a variety of clinical settings Serving as the Whole Health point of contact for the facility to VISN 6 and OPCC &CT Establishing internal and external customer relationships local and nationally while developing the WHP Work Schedule:

Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant:
The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. OR The completion of coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in a MSN Bridge Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing. Students should submit the certificate of professional nursing to sit for the NCLEX to the VA along with a copy of the MSN transcript. (Reference VA Handbook 5005, Appendix G6) OR In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of a current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement for graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. Registration:
Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia. English Language Proficiency:
RNs appointed to direct patient care positions must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d). Grade Determinations:
The following criteria must be met in determining the grade assignment of candidates, and if appropriate, the level within a grade:
Nurse I Level I - An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse I Level II - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 1 year of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelor's degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience; OR a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) with no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse I Level III - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a BSN with approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or related field with a BSN and no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse II - A BSN with approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing or related field with a BSN and approximately 1-2 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree in nursing or meets basic requirements for appointment and has doctoral degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse III - Master's degree in nursing or related field with BSN and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience. Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of successful nursing practice Documentation of excellence and experience in program development, implementation and evaluation Knowledge of Community resources, primary and specialty care programs available for Veterans Documented evidence of successful professional nursing practice in progressively complex positions/levels. Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills (written and oral communication) and collaboration with other disciplines. Evidence of effective teamwork with demonstrable outcomes Prior VA Experience Documented leadership in committees, councils, or programs at service or organizational level. Documented evidence of leadership and involvement in professional nursing organizations related to staff development and /or continuing education. Preferred Level of Education:
MSN or BSN with a Master's in a Related field Doctoral Degree in Nursing or related field and approximately 2-3 years experience Preferred Certifications in:
ANCC Certification in Nursing Professional Development Reference:

The incumbent must be able to perform all activities of the position without restriction. This position involves considerable standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, lifting, sitting, and turning. The work may involve going up and down flights of stairs. The position requires visual and auditory acuity at a level sufficient to provide safe and effective nursing care. The incumbent should have the ability to physically control or protect him/herself from physically abusive patients.)

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
