Physician (Integrated Community Care (ICC)) Lead

The Specialty ICC Lead serves as a vital resource and advisor for programmatic, clinical or other crucial Veterans health issues and inquiries, and has VISN-level staff support for data analysis and project implementation to ensure program effectiveness, efficiency, and the enhancement of all aspects of the quality of services and customer satisfaction (internal and external). The Medicine Specialty ICC Lead serves as the first line of oversight for operational service line issues and requirements. Communication concerning the specialty clinical community is primarily through the assigned ICC Lead, with VISN reporting mechanisms established to the Healthcare Delivery Committee (HDC). The Medicine Specialty ICC Lead works with facility Medicine leadership via workgroups including:
Emergency Medicine, Hospitalist and Medicine Chiefs. Guiding provision of care, this individual works through and with facility Service Chiefs, other facility leaders and Chiefs of Staff. VISN ICC Leads are non-voting members of the Healthcare Delivery Committee. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Serves as the Lead for all committees related to medicine specialty. Serves as a vital resource and advisor for programmatic, clinical or other crucial Veterans health issues and inquiries. Represents the VISN on National Committees (i.e. Medicine VISN POC's call and Field Advisory call) and serves on other groups in the VISN as needed. Ensures provision of comprehensive care for the target population through the utilization of interdisciplinary teams, care management and application of evidence- based clinical practices. Ensures implementation of annual Integrated community line specific performance measures for Network-level evaluation to aid in the development of efficient and effective delivery of services. Maintains accountability within the service line by:
1) monitoring various metrics specific to the specialty; 2) analyzing and developing actions to improve metrics; and 3) standardizing workload expectations for clinicians/providers. Coordinates program improvement through (a) Leveraging relationships with facility, VISN and national leadership (b) didactics and other learning modalities; and (c) Site visits. Plans for future access points, taking into consideration the geographic distribution of the target population and including analysis of disease prevalence. Fosters interdisciplinary input into service line evolution. Implements and oversees Network-wide virtual care strategies within Integrated Clinical Community. Delivers hands-on clinical care at one of the medical center facilities within the VISN. Establishes an environment that integrates educational and research activities within the service line's primary function of providing patient care services. Develops and implements a Medicine Integrated Clinical Community, that guides, supports and evaluates provision of consistent services to patients across all Network facilities. Communicates effectively with staff, patients and stakeholders within the service area and throughout the Network. Assumes a leadership role in VISN Strategic Planning and implementation on health concerns related to the Care of Veterans receiving medicine. Serves as the VISN Whole Health Initiative Lead. United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Experience:
It is preferable for the ICC lead to have privileges at the Durham Healthcare System Reference:
VA Regulations, specifically VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Appendix G-2 Physician Qualification Standard. This can be found in the local Human Resources Office. Physical Requirements:
This position requires light to moderate lifting (15-45 lbs); light carrying (15 lbs. and under); reaching above shoulder; walking; bending; stooping, and some lifting in the direct care of patients; ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously; hearing (aid permitted); emotional stability; mental stability; working closely with others and working alone.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
