At the entry level of this position, you will:
Serve as the Technical Information Program Manager (TIM), developing technical guidance and policy for the Center and monitoring the flow of scientific and technical products (STPs) through internal clearance procedures; Oversee and manage the processing, policy review, and data entry of scientific data and technical products; Serve as the Scientific Data Manager (SDM), facilitating the delivery of research products through intramural research projects and extramural arrangements with academic and other scientific institutions; Lead the TIM/SDM team to develop, edit, format, and distribute scientific and technical products; Analyze and advise on program goals, objectives, resource utilization, policies, and process improvement. When entering a Federal job at a grade level lower than the highest promotion potential level, you may be promoted to more complex duties and work more independently, as your career progresses. You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements. In addition to the educational requirements, we are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-12 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-11 level defined as interpreting and/or evaluating technical guidance and policies; assisting in the development, editing, and delivery of scientific research products; analyzing program efficiency and/or regulatory compliance.Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
1) Knowledge of technical information program management, processes, and procedures; 2) Skill in developing publication clearance policies and procedures; 3) Knowledge of scientific topic areas to advise on appropriate product processing and delivery; 4) Skill in working with databases and datasets derived from numerous scientific disciplines; 5) Skill in evaluating research products, programs, and data; 6) Ability to interpret and translate scientific research deliverables for a variety of technical audiences; 7) Skill in oral communication; 8) Skill in written communication. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
