This position assists the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and Nurse Executive/Quality Management Officer (NE/QMO) in day-to-day activities, including but not limited to the following:
Coordinates administrative work in preparation of the CMO, NE/QMO's travel. Coordinates the calendar for meetings and conference calls; reviews, assigns and monitors suspense items from the CMO, NE/QMO offices using independent judgment; reviews and processes incoming correspondence for the CMO, NE/QMO which is typically from individuals or groups outside of the VISN office. Incumbent responds to inquiries and administrative issues brought to the CMO, NE/QMO by members of the staff and officials of the agency, state and local governments, other hospitals and organizations, other federal agencies.Notifies the appropriate staff officials of the need for information or recommendations, and either prepares the response or follows up to ensure a timely response by others. Schedules in-house conferences and meetings, oversees the administrative support for meetings and provides any administrative support that may be required.Prepares and distributes agenda items, and ensures that all required materials are provided and operational. Attends CMO and NE/CMO formal meetings and takes minutes, preparing and distributing them as necessary.Ensures all suspense items are noted and tracked to completion. Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized
Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-8 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
using advanced administrative concepts, principles and practices sufficient to perform duties involving eliminating conflict and duplication of work, determine when new procedures are needed, and recommending restructuring of clerical activities in the office and subordinate offices in coordination with the Lead Executive Secretary; knowledge of policies and views on all significant matters affecting the daily policies, operation and procedures of the organization; perform basic data gathering methods, such as standard interviewing or surveying techniques; the use of computer equipment with a wide variety of software to produce and prepare letters, memoranda, working documents, spreadsheets, databases, desktop publishing and graphics; and communicating verbally and in writing with a variety of people from different backgrounds and levels of understanding using proper grammar, spelling and punctuation. The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. Work requires spending time performing keyboarding duties. Standing duties include filing, retrieving or storing supplies, conducting presentations during meetings, etc.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
