At the entry level of this position, you will:
- Conduct, review, analyze and interpret environmental and human risk and exposure studies to support National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) reviews, development and work planning. - Utilize analytical tools and techniques to develop and conduct risk and exposure studies to estimate the magnitude and distribution of environmental changes and health impacts. - Provide technical support on environmental and human risk and exposure methodologies and computer-based tools for statistical and environmental modeling to internal and external stakeholders. - Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement environmental and human risk and exposure analyses. When entering a Federal job at a grade level lower than the highest promotion potential level, you may be promoted to more complex duties and work more independently, as your career progresses. You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements.One or more positions may be filled. In addition to the educational requirements, we are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-11 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-09 level defined as reviewing and interpreting scientific or technical data or reviewing and interpreting human health or environmental risks data; and developing written reports to communicate results- OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in the academic discipline as described below - OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. To qualify for the GS-12 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-11 level defined as collecting and analyzing human health and environmental risk data; utilizing computer modeling systems to assess data trends; and making recommendations to edit or update environment policy and guidance. Your application package will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
1) Ability to characterize environmental and health risk, and exposure utilizing concepts, principles, theories and practices of the field of physical science; 2) Ability to analyze environmental hazards and estimate associated health or ecological risks; 3) Ability to interpret environmental and health exposure risk data and model simulation results; 4) Knowledge of computer-based tools for statistical and environmental and health risk and exposure modeling; 5) Skill in written communication; 6) Skill in oral communication; 7) Ability establish and maintain working relationships with multi-disciplinary teams. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
