Immediate opportunities exist for experienced ophthalmic assistants, technicians, and technologists.
Work Performed
Provide ophthalmic technical support to Eye Center physicians and other technical support personnel to perform diagnostic tests necessary for evaluation of a wide range of patient eye disorders, injuries, and dystrophies.
Certification by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) is preferred.
Candidate/s will possess all skills of a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant:
Vision testing
Slit lamp exam
Refraction,
Goldmann tonometry
Lensometry
EOM's
Visual field testing
Additional preferred skills include:
Retinoscopy,
A-Scan
B-Scan Biometry
Keratometry
Photography
Pachymetry
Corneal topography
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Work requires an education background generally equivalent to a high school education.
Experience
Ophthalmic Technician -- None required above education/training requirement. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Ophthalmic Assistant -- Work requires 2 years of directly related experience working for an Ophthalmologist
Training and Certifications:
Ophthalmic Technician -- Work requires completion of Ophthalmic Technician training and certification as a certified Ophthalmic Technician by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO).
Ophthalmic Assistant -- Work requires certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO).

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
