Director of Sourcing R&D Solutions

Position and Role
The position is located at the Company's global headquarters in Durham, North Carolina, reporting to the Head of Sourcing, R&D Solutions. This is a key role in the Global Procurement organization that was established to achieve maximum value from spend while balancing other business requirements, including quality, service, security of supply and third party innovation capture. The position presents sourcing strategy recommendations to executives, develops strategic business relationships with external suppliers and internal business leaders, leads contract negotiations, drives cost saving programs and implements strategic sourcing and purchasing best practices.
Duties and Responsibilities
Business Partnership:
Establish and maintain relationships with key functional leaders to align priorities and proactively identify opportunities to add value to their initiatives in support of revenue generation, efficiency, demand management and expense reduction.
Vendor Selection:
Lead efforts in collaboration with stakeholders to identify potential suppliers, prepare RFI/RFQ/RFP documents and manage the evaluation and negotiation processes using esourcing and eAuction platforms where appropriate.
Cost Reduction:
Establish short and long term category strategies that will establish
delivery of price reduction, demand reduction and cost avoidance initiatives.
Contract Management:
Manage the contract approval and exception processes in support of respective categories and business partner support organizations. Educate end users about new strategic contracts and drive compliance with approved contracts. In collaboration with the Legal function, develop and maintain template master service agreements and standard terms and conditions for common and/or critical contracting situations.
Vendor Management:
Work with R&DS leadership to enable processes for reviewing supplier performance against contracted obligations/service levels and business expectations. Anticipate and minimize performance issues via creation, monitoring, and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs). Work with internal stakeholders and strategic vendors to establish governance procedures to prevent new and resolve known issues.
Qualifications and Credentials
Bachelor's degree is required, graduate business degree is preferred7 years of experience in a similar procurement role.
Demonstrated experience and result delivery in a Pharmaceutical R&D environment.
Demonstrated experience and result delivery in IT Procurement.
Evidence of an engaged, self-directed work eth ic with emphasis on continual improvement.
Must possess the vision, vitality, teamwork, communication and commitment to easily and effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
Ability to inspire and motivate high performance teams with strong customer orientation and ability to work in multinational and multicultural environment.
Proven leadership, influencing, negotiation, and public presentation skills.

communication skills.
Experience leading international teams.

Demonstrated leadership in previous roles, experience managing complexity and ambiguity.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
