Summary
The MCII coordinates and reviews the work of subordinate employees and assists with training and continuing education programs. Code medical records using CPT and ICD-9 coding conventions. Review medical record to assure specificity of diagnoses, procedures, appropriate/optimal reimbursement for hospital charges. Abstract information from medical record following established methods and procedures.
Duties and Work Performed
Review medical records and accurately code primary and secondary diagnoses and proceduresusing CPT and ICD codes
Coordinate/review the the work of designated employees Ensure quality and quantity of work performed through regular audits
Assist with research, development and presentations
Ensure DRG/APC assignment is accurate
Consult with and educate physicians on coding and documentation practices
Maintain thorough understanding of medical record practices, standards regulations, JCAHO, HCFA, MRNC, etc
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Advanced ICD-9 and CPT coding conventions
A&P
Medical Terminology
Extensive DRG/APC Knowledge
Familiarity with coding software
Effective oral and written communication
Education and experience
RHIA-No experience
RHIT-No experience
CCS-1 year of coding experience required
Prefer CCS certification with RHIT and/or RHIA
Degrees, Licensures, Certification
Must hold one of the following:
RHIA, RHIT, CCS
ICD-10 training required
Compensation
Competitive salary and extensive benefit packageEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
