Details:
The head of Independent Monitoring will be responsible for directing a team that works with all areas of Strategic Planning & Operations (SP&O), Legal, Compliance, Commercial, PPV, and Internal Audit to develop, execute, and implement strategies to manage operational and compliance risk within the US Pharmaceutical (Pharma) organization. This role will contribute to ensuring SP&O processes and systems enable US Pharmaceuticals to comply with legal/regulatory requirements. Additionally, this role will ensure monitoring required by GSK s Corporate Integrity Agreement (CIA) is conducted as required. This role will lead a team of at least 8 individuals.
Controls and Monitoring
o Responsible for coordinating and directing independent monitoring of US Commercial activities
o Act as single point of control for all aspects (implementation, execution, reporting, etc.) related to field force monitoring and other monitoring requirements related to the Commercial CIA
o Direct staff who manage external partners on a project basis (e.g., speaker program monitoring, records review).
o Provide objective assessment and reporting of monitoring and control activities
o Provide oversight of monitoring activities and deliverables produced by monitoring team
o Liaise with clients stakeholders to develop satisfactory solutions necessary to meet compliance and audit requirements and mange risk
o Provides risk management and advisory service to SP&O Leadership Team & NA Pharma Compliance Officer
o Maintain awareness of external risk environment and establish a network of industry contacts
Leadership
o Maintain a high degree of credibility, independence, integrity, confidentiality, and trust
o Establish and maintain the importance and integrity of the control environment within SP&O and US Pharma
o Build, lead and motivate high performing, knowledgeable and objective team
o Work to establish and maintain trust and confidence of Compliance and executive leadership in the US Pharma Business
o Lead, manage, and supervise external partners as needed
Process Improvement
o Review and assess US Pharma s internal control framework, including risk management, and written standards, and controls. Recommend and facilitate improvements to independent monitoring where necessary
o Champion business improvement/process measurement and monitoring initiatives to ensure that SP&O is effectively, efficiently and accurately self-assessed and monitored.
o Design and develop additional internal controls as identified by monitoring activities within new and existing systems
o Influence senior US Pharma leadership, project sponsor, stakeholders, and participants to engage process improvement
o Lead/participate in cross functional teams to fulfill process mapping, perform compliance activities and complete special projects
o Manage and/or coordinate the implementation of business process improvements in support of the achievement of SP&O business targets while maintaining a strong internal control environment
Project Management
o Manage staff of various sizes, as required, and among various skill levels and employment status
o Identify, retain, and manage consultants as necessary to facilitate project activities
People
o Lead, motivate, and champion the development of staff located in RTP & PHL
o Provide oversight, feedback, training, and coaching to staff located in RTP and PHL
o Effectively manage the human resource processes (PDP, Salary Review & Bonus, performance management, training & development, etc.)
o Emphasize communication and foster an environment of open and honest interactions

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
