Principal Reseatch Scientist - Field Biology/Agronomy

SUMMARY
The position is for an experienced Entomologist/Agronomist in the Global Insecticide Research Group (APR/IB) at our research facility in Research Triangle Park, NC.
The successful candidate will join an established insecticide Field Biology/Agronomy team and support the Team Leader in managing the insecticide field development program that primarily focuses on the global evaluation of research compounds and global life cycle management of established products.
The successful applicant will take responsibility for one or more research projects, were he/she is in charge of designing, implementing and assessing the field program that will be executed on global and regional research stations and if needed with external contractors. In this role, the incumbent will communicate on a day-to-day basis with colleagues in the Advanced Biology team -both in RTP and the Philippines, the Chemistry Team in Germany and the Formulation Team in RTP.
The ultimate goal of this field program is to select candidate compounds that qualify for early development (phase 2) and further for full development (phase 3).
In addition, the Entomologist/Agronomist provides entomological expertise to other global research projects and the optimization of commercial insect control products in various key regions/countries by working closely together with the regional/country technical specialists as well as the global insecticide Marketing Department.
Responsibilities include: o
Managing the global field testing program. o
Defining the technical aspects of research compounds and selecting of potential new insecticide candidates for further development. o
Supporting commercial insecticides by providing technical expertise as well as to support the label use expansion of commercial products by planning and executing the appropriate field test program. o
Evaluate in-licensing opportunities.
oPrepare and review project proposals in conjunction with Strategic Insecticide Marketing.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
PhD with 8 years, or MS with 10 years, or BS with 15 years relevant experience in the field of agriculture, horticulture, entomology or crop protection.
- Proficient in experimental design and experience in running and managing insecticide field trials with an agrochemical company.
- Proven technical knowledge and experience in conducting and evaluating field trials, data analysis and reporting.
- Solid understanding of agronomy.
- Understanding of chemical and physical properties of molecules and the relationship with uptake into plants and insects, transport and metabolism.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, communication and time management skills.
- Self-starter with strong leadership and team skills.
- Must have solid written and verbal and presentation skills.
- Must be able to effectively use MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally at least 25% of the time
. Preferred:
- Previous experience in crop pest management and pesticide efficacy research and development with a multi- national agricultural products company.
- Working knowledge with the agricultural research management software ARM.
EDUCATION
PhD with 8 years, or MS with 10 years, or BS with 15 years relevant experience in the field of agriculture, horticulture, entomology or crop protection

Candidates must be local to the RTP area; no relocation assistance is available for this position.
SALARY
$40/hour

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
