Purchasing Agent
Accentuate Staffing is currently seeking a Purchasing Agent to join a manufacturing client located in Durham, NC.
In this role, the ideal candidate will have a background in supply planning, sourcing, and inventory management.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries of materials.
Plan, create and release purchase orders to procure materials to support the production schedule.
Monitor inventory levels to prevent excess inventory, shortages, or expirations.
Negotiate pricing, requirements, and terms of new and existing partner relationships.
Identify opportunities for cost savings, gain internal buy-in, and implement improvements to procurement processes.
Identify and communicate supply delays to downstream colleagues and planning managers to mitigate potential production disruptions.
Requirements:
Associate degree or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum two years of experience in Planning, Procurement, Supply Chain, Materials Management, Engineering, or Operations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks and ERP systems.
General knowledge of planning and purchasing processes, including inventory management and supplier negotiations.
Placing purchasing orders with vendors Maintain purchase orders within the purchasing systems Generating purchase orders and transmitting purchase orders to suppliers Maintain purchase order and purchasing process documentation Providing purchase orders to suppliers Produce inventory and purchasing reports Authorize all production material purchasing contracts Manage purchasing team as well as normal purchasing responsibilities Support procurement and purchasing processes Add new vendor purchase orders Ordering and purchasing new supplies Communicate purchasing schedules and vendor Create purchase orders from requisitions Select suppliers and issues purchase orders Perform all other purchasing duties Perform other purchasing or inventory control duties Provide purchasing guidance and oversight, leading purchasing team Enable effective purchasing process management Match purchase orders to invoices from vendors Ensure purchase orders and contracts Recommended Skills Cost Reduction Engineering Enterprise Resource Planning Materials Management Microsoft Excel Negotiation Apply to this job.
