Operational Accounting Manager
Manager, Operational AccountingReporting to the Director, Accounting and Reporting, this position will manage the Operational accounting team and be responsible for the full cycle of general ledger-related Accounting.
These tasks will include but are not limited to, coordinating the monthly close, preparing and reviewing accrual journal entries, preparing, and reviewing month-end close journal entries, preparing GL account reconciliations, overseeing audits, monthly financial review, and providing financial reporting in a collaborative team driven environment.
oPerforms month end close duties and associated journal entries oReview of journal entries of direct reports to ensure accuracy and completeness oReview accruals and information provided from the Procurement system (Ivalua) oReview of inventory balances at all Airport locations to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Support of quarterly inventory counts at the Airports oObtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the business operations, financial systems and the general ledger structure.
oCoordinate and support audits of various Airport Authorities as required by the contract oAccount Reconciliations at the end of each month oBalance Sheet rollforwards for perspective accounts oReview and approve coding for purchase requests and accounts payable vouchers in the procurement/purchasing software (Ivalua).
oSupport system maintenance needs of Ivalua.
oSupport external audit by providing necessary PBC items.
oSupervise and mentor team of 4-5 Accountants (Staff and Senior) oAssist in special projects and/or other areas as needed.
Qualifications and Competencies oBS/BA in Accounting.
oMinimum 8 years working in an Operational Accounting, General Ledger Accounting, or other Accounting role that includes monthly close activities oAbility to manage competing deliverables oHigh integrity, solid work ethic and exceptionally detail oriented.
oAbility to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment with tight deadlines.
