Job SummaryThe Installation Specialist:
oAssists in the installation of natural gas appliances, meters, and facilities in an efficient and safe manner while achieving excellent customer serviceoUses Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) to distribute and route work orders to computers mounted in company vehiclesoLights gas pilots on natural gas residential and/or commercial appliancesoCompletes minor appliance repairsoRuns customer fuel linesoSafely drives a company vehicleoCompletes appropriate paperwork in writing and on the computerThis position reports to Dominion Energy North Carolina's North Durham Operations Center in Durham, North Carolina.
There is one position which will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.
The company is actively seeking United States military veterans and service members who meet the qualifications outlined below.
oMilitary service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & ExperienceTrainee Service (0-6 months)Installation Specialist IV (18 months) highest level an applicant can be hired.
oMust have knowledge and skills with common hand and power tools.
oEffective communication skills for customer interactions and a willingness to work with others in a diverse team environment.
oBasic computer skills are key.
oAbility to work in enclosed areas such as crawl spaces, basements, and attics.
oAbility to work on elevated areas such as roofs and utilize ladders, scaffolding and lifts.
oAbility to serve as an emergency responderoAvailability for overtime and after-hours, on-call work.
oMust be willing and able to meet a 45-minute emergency response time from the geographical center of the Durham area.
Emergency response time is a critical measure for Dominion Energy North Carolina and candidates are required to consistently meet this requirement, including when on-call.
oAbility to adhere to safe working and driving procedures.
oOccasional heavy lifting up to 80 lbs.

Position works in enclosed areas such as crawl spaces, basements, and attics, as well as, elevated areas such as roofs and utilize ladders, scaffolding and lifts.
Position may encounter agitated/upset customers.
