Quick Apply Full-time 3 hours ago Full Job Description Facility Maintenance - Data Center - THIRD SHIFT General Summary The main responsibility of this position is to support and maintain the overall operation and reliability of a 24hr X 7 X 365 data center and its infrastructure.
Working under the direction of the Data Center Facility Manager, Facility Technicians must ensure that facilities issues are identified and repairs are performed accurately in a time-efficient manner.
Candidates must be able to pass a government security clearance.
This requires that candidates have no felony background and have registered with Selective Service.
Additionally, as this position is in a federal facility, the selected candidate must provide proof of vaccination as a condition of employment.
The shift hours are as follows:
1st shift is 6 am to 4 pm; 2nd shift is from 2 pm to midnight; 3rd shift is from 10 pm to 8 am.
The current open position is a THIRD SHIFT POSITION.
General Responsibilities Facility Technicians will have primary responsibility for troubleshooting and maintaining all electrical and HVAC systems in the facility, including but not limited to:
generators, switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, PDUs, RPDUs, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, CRAC units, etc.
Operate, monitor, maintain and respond to all conditions in the facilities systems.
Areas are including, but not limited to:
electrical, mechanical, building monitoring and control systems.
Assist manager with work order documentation and/or using a CMMS system, including, but not limited to, entering equipment repairs, preventive maintenance schedules/programs, documenting work orders, etc.
Monitor building electrical, mechanical, plumbing and fire protection systems for proper function and operation.
Must be able to perform basic maintenance and repairs.
Possess the ability to coordinate with supervision of facility manager the scheduling and coordination of outside contractors for maintenance and repairs to include emergency situations.
Conduct a daily observation report of all equipment by actual visual inspections.
Record, calculate and maintain detailed records of maintenance and equipment parameters, which will require knowledge of SiteScan and Metasys BAS monitoring systems.
Ensure all safety and precautionary procedures pertaining to assignments and equipment are followed.
Monitor for safety issues and violations on a continual basis.
Document tenant requests for indoor air temperature adjustments and follow protocol prior to any adjustments.
Other facilities duties may include:
painting, replacement of light bulbs, light plumbing issues and other general maintenance tasks.
Light housekeeping may be required in the event of an emergency.
Requirements 3
years as electrician or HVAC technician, or the equivalent in a facility environment.
Preference given to applicants with experience in data centers, hospitals or power plants maintenance operations.
Higher education in electrical and/or industrial maintenance.
Excellent understanding of the electrical systems, with performance in a data center environment, including, but not limited to:
transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, PDU/RPDU units and Branch Circuit Monitoring Systems.
Excellent understanding of the HVAC systems, with performance in a data center environment, including, but not limited to:
chillers, cooling towers, chilled water CRAC units and air handlers.
Ability to communicate intelligently, tactfully and effectively with contractors who perform maintenance or upgrade work, as well as with tenants and security contractors.
