Family Preschool operates September through May.
The Support Teacher works to assist all teachers and students from 8:
30 -12:
30 pm Monday through Friday.
We are looking for applicants who love working with children and their parents.
Experience teaching/caring for young children required.
Applicants with an early childhood education degree will be given preference.
Compensation for teachers includes an above average pay rate, paid vacation days, and paid workdays and continuing education.
SUPPORT TEACHER We are seeking a long term teacher to offer one on one support for children as needed, provide teacher and parent guidance, and substitute regularly in the classrooms.
Key responsibilities include:
Be a central part of the Family Preschool community and work to develop a classroom environment and educational program that meets recognized professional standards and is compatible with the cooperative, play-based philosophy of Family Preschool.
Assist in all five classrooms (day to day assignment will vary).
Provide calm, one on one support to children as needed.
Children range in ages 1 to 5.
Regularly provide support for teaching staff.
Substitute as needed.
Be at Family Preschool on school days.
On-site hours are 8:
30am to 12:
30pm, with the first half-hour to be used for set-up and the last half-hour to be used for clean-up.
Children attend 9am-12pm.
Attend regular (monthly) staff meetings to plan for and discuss the progress of the educational program, the development and well-being of the children, and other matters in the teaching domain; attend other meetings of the preschool as needed concerning the educational program; attend Board meetings as desired.
Assist with following and assessing the children's development and providing consultation for their parents.
Exercise discretion when discussing information about students and their families and keep sensitive information confidential.
Serve as a resource to parents by being available (within reason) for individual discussions of child development and well- being and giving guidance to parents volunteering in the classroom.
Have uppermost in mind the physical and emotional well-being of the children enrolled at Family Preschool.
Maintain CPR and First Aid certification.
