The Manager, Research Analysis, is a leader within the Research and Psychometric Services (RPS) team. This role executes operational duties and manages statistical tools, projects, and staff. It provides expertise in data management, statistical concepts, and technical project management.
The primary responsibility of this role is to lead statistical analysis projects for internal and external clients. These projects include standard offerings as well as ad hoc activities requiring requirement gathering, project planning and documentation, data cleaning and exploration, code development and maintenance, statistical analysis and interpretation, and documentation of procedures and results.
In addition to being an individual contributor, this role directly supervises a small team of data analysts within RPS. Management responsibilities include but are not limited to mentoring and professional development, determining staff assignments, contributing to project planning, project oversight, and monitoring schedules and deadlines.
The Manager, Research Analysis, works with a high degree of independence under the supervision of the Senior Director, RPS. As a member of the Research & Development department, this role collaborates closely with Program/Project Managers and also across departments with Product Management, Customer Success, and IT/Engineering.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Management
Manages project and workload assignments for the Analysts in coordination with Sr. Dir. RPS and Program/Project Managers.
Trains and mentors staff to foster professional development; creates training materials as needed.
Coordinates with Researchers and Psychometricians regarding analyses for research and operational projects.
Technical
Verifies and cleans data from internal and external sources as needed for analyses.
Conducts analysis of operational and research data using a variety of statistical methods.
Prepares summary statistics, data visualization, and other statistical results.
Develops and manages existing statistical codebase for documentation, efficiency, and accuracy.
Oversees and contributes to the development and maintenance of statistical tools to facilitate production and improve efficiency.
Expertise
Communicates both internally and externally on the interpretation of analysis results; prepares and makes presentations to stakeholders as needed.
Works with researchers and teams outside of RPS; keeps Sr. Dir. RPS apprised of task scope and progress.
Oversees and contributes to the creation and maintenance of documentation for tools and databases.
Stays current with statistical methodology and analytic technology.
Serves as a technical owner for tools and data sources, providing input and support as necessary.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position manages data analysis staff within the Research & Psychometric Services department.
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience
Advanced degree in Statistics, Analytics, or related field is required, along with 5
years of experience; 1-3 years of increasing project and staff management responsibilities is also required.
Computer skills
Extensive experience with standard office and productivity software (e.g., Google Suite, Microsoft Office). Expertise with the R statistical software, relational database technology (e.g., SQL), and version control systems (e.g., Git). Familiarity with Python and SAS, education technology infrastructure and development, including software development languages (e.g., C++) and technologies (REST APIs), and program management (e.g. Agile) is preferred.
Statistical Skills
Extensive experience in application of traditional statistical techniques (e.g., regression, classification) and the ability to summarize and interpret statistical procedures and results. Familiarity with machine learning (cross validation, supervised learning), psychometrics (e.g., classical measurement theory, item response theory), and data visualization.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals and reports. Ability to respond to common inquiries from researchers, customers, or members of the general public. Ability to write presentations and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to colleagues, management, and/or public groups.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

Compensation details:
95000-125000 Yearly Salary

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
